I have been teaching the fundamentals of programming of the robot and MUCs, hardware techniques of the robot, maze solving techniques for your robot, automation projects using MUCs to 1000 of students since last two years, in my YANTRAM ROBOTICS CLUB (popularly known as YRC) at Akola.
Many of the students who are new to this field, ask different questions about learning robotics and automation using microcontrollers. So I have made a collection of these questions with their relevant explanations.
Which student can learn robotics?
Any student learning in 7th standard or higher (up to engineering, polytechnic or B.Sc./M.Sc. level) can learn robotics. One of our student, Janmejay Rathi, a student from 7th standard joined our Level-II course of robotics and achieved good skill in robotics logical programming. He is from Delhi Public School, Nagpur.
He learnt it just in 10 days and left back for his home town. He learnt all the programming skills on his robotic kit of ATMega8 – about 20 experiments with relevant logic. Now he is working on bluetooth controlling robot and also on AT89S52 higher end microcontrollers. So we think age is immaterial, interest and enthusiasm makes all the difference….!

What are advantages of learning robotics?
As per feedback from students who entered in NITs, IITs, BITs and other colleges of Engineering in first year they come across terms like Robocon, Robotics competition, Robo war, Robo race and so on. Most of the students join such robo events and the events turn out to be very prestigious.
Such events are helpful to build a great career in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or Computer engineering, etc. The students, who complete their PG engineering & specialization from these branches with flying colors, are quickly hired in the ever growing industries of robotics/automation with incredibly high salary packages.
But for making such great career the student needs systematic learning in basic electronics, logic, elementary C language and basics of embedded ‘C’, etc.
So with years of study and constant efforts, I have designed effective and easy training methods of robotics through his popular YANTRAM ROBOTICS WORKSHOP & ROBOTICS COURSES.

What type of training is given in YRC?
Every student is assumed to have zero knowledge in robotics. Each batch of LEVEL-2 course is restricted to maximum 5 students only. Due to this, I can personally teach and understand the problems of each and every student. Sometimes it happens that I love to teach even a single student.
The course syllabus is divided into following topics….
When the student has understood all the basic points, then only I start teaching him on computer. This also covers the topics like how to install and use particular (open source) software for robotics programming, REGISTERS & PORT definitions of MUCs – ATMega8 and ATMega16, how to generate .hex file of your program, how to burn it in your robotic kit, etc.
Then I start with the basic programming lessons like working on LEDs, motors, sensors, their logic and relevant hardware, etc.
After everyday teaching the student is given with 5 tasks as homework. I gave lot of hints as to how the student can write the logical programs of the given tasks. This helps to work on the given tasks successfully.
You will be surprised to know that NOT A SINGLE STUDENT says that I DIDN’T DO THE HOMEWORK. Each and every student successfully complete everyday homework (with minor mistakes, which are corrected with discussion and explanation in the class).
The program written by every student is practically tested on his/her kit everyday and while doing this I teach them the logical aspects behind every step of the program. See some videos of the same.
At the end of the course i.e. after 7-10 days, there is a test examination on complete syllabus of this course. The student who secures 75% or above marks will get CERTIFICATE OF MERIT. He/she gets CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING also.

How to take admission for LEVEL-2 course?

For outsiders, I try to take classes more than 1 hour everyday. This helps complete their course within prescribed time. Even you can take our distance learning program in robotics.
